Livin' Large on the Lake

This weekend we were able to stay on an amazing houseboat at Lake Mead. Along with the luxiourious 4 bedroom "ship", we also had the use of a boat and two Sea-doo's. The kids also had fun in the hot tub, sliding off the slide and tubing behing the boat.

Nice weather + Great friends + Good food + Fun toys = Great Memories at the Lake

Roommates

I sort of feel bad that Cody and Mason have to share a room. Don't get me wrong, they play great together and they are best friends. They just seem to not agree on how to keep their room clean. First two pictures are Cody's dresser and bed. Note the clothes on the floor and the laundry basket that contains clean, folded clothes that were supposed to be put away. Dresser drawers never pushed in, bed never made. That's Cody!!!

Mason's dresser nicely organized, drawers pushed in, trophies organized.
Mason's bed before he leaves for school. Pajamas folded, bed made and clothes put away. That's Mason!!!
I hope they continue to live in harmony.

My Brother's Wedding

The Cecil women got together right before the wedding for brunch (and Mother's Day). I look horrible because I had been working in the backyard all morning. If Kinzee could survive all of us, I guess she'll fit right in.

On May 16th, my youngest brother got married to Kinzee Smith from Oregon. It was such a busy day, but very nice. The temple sealing was beautiful, the family luncheon was fun and yummy, and the reception was perfect. The weather was nice, food was good, and guests were fun. Congratulations Tyler and Kinzee.

Catch Up Post - Backyardigans

We were very rushed to get a bit of work done in our backyard. My little brothers wedding was in our backyard last weekend. We poured some concrete pads, raked and weeded, leveled and smoothed, and brought in some fake grass. The kids think they have their own putting green. The boys all got out their golf clubs and practice putting. I thought it was so cute.

There is still plenty of work to do, but the reception turned out very nice. I didn't get any pictures, though.

Catch Up Post - Easter

Easter came and went. At least I got a picture. This is the kids before church. Looks like Mason forgot to comb his hair. He should have borrowed Sydney's hat. :)

Sydney's dress is the dress I made for my brothers wedding, but she got to wear it on Easter.

Catch Up Post - Family Campout

We have always wanted to camp in our backyard. We set up the tent, brought out a TV, watched Marley & Me, and had a campfire. Brandon and I only made it till 2am, then had to come inside to sleep. The kids had so much fun. Brandon thought it would be fun to use up some old gun powder. Hence, the fireball.

Should I Stay or Should I Go?

Sue H. Morrow or John Dooley

I can't seem to make a choice. I should be lucky I have a choice. We are zoned for Dooley, but I love Sue Morrow. I'm sure I can get a zone variance.

Sue Morrow
Pros:
year round ( I don't mind it)
later start time 9:00am
friends
PTA relationship

Cons:
farther distance than Dooley (would have to drive)
having to get a zone variance
not attending school with ward kids

John Dooley
Pros:
close distance (to ride bikes or walk)
9 month - kids all on same schedule
attending school with ward kids
small school population and class size

Cons:
early start time 8:00am
9 month - all kids home all summer
not knowing anyone
